I'm a coffee loving, travel-obsessed, thirty-something based out of Central Illinois. My best friend and I raise two kiddos on chaotic schedules in our vintage ranch and I couldn't love it more. I'm lucky enough to make a living doing what I love for the people I love! I specialize in weddings (destination + local) and boudoir. I hope we have the chance to meet!

Wade & Colie’s wedding was the perfect mix of classic elegance and fall vibes. From their first look to the last dance, this wedding was filled with love, laughter, and moments that made the day uniquely theirs.
I’ve known Wade for years (back when I was helping coach his high school shooting team) and I’d previously photographed his sister Sydney’s wedding. This is a family near and dear to my heart, and it meant so much to photograph such a big day for him and his bride. Colie was an absolute joy to work with and I got to know her a little more at their engagement session, and their connection was impossible to miss – especially when their son, Hesten, made a brief but adorable appearance that had everyone smiling.
Wade & Colie’s September wedding took place at the Ford County Fair Grounds in Melvin, IL. They opted for a first look, which gave us some quiet moments to capture the connection between them before the whirlwind began. The bridal party brought so much energy, and with fall just starting to show its colors, the outdoor shots were pure magic, especially at sunset. You know my weakness for that sunlight…
While I’ve photographed receptions in that very dance hall before, Wade & Colie (like the Ruecks always do) transformed the space in a way that was breathtaking. The highlight for me? A huge feathered chandelier over the cake table and what would be the dance floor that added an unexpected, show stopping touch of elegance to the hall. Their attention to detail and class brought the room to life in a way that only this family knows how!
I got to witness my very first “chapping” for this Rancher’s wedding – the groomsmen grabbed (more like captured?) Wade before he was able to get off the dance floor, held him down, and Colie took his chaps and, well, had some fun whacking Wade with them… I googled it – it’s a legit tradition and all meant in good fun. The fun and love Wade & Colie brought to the day was palpable, and it was an honor to document it all.
Wade & Colie, thank you for trusting me to capture this chapter of your lives. Your wedding day was full of joy, warmth, and unforgettable moments, and I hope these photos remind you of just how incredible it all was. Happy anniversary month!
