I'm a coffee loving, travel-obsessed, thirty-something based out of Central Illinois. My best friend and I raise two kiddos on chaotic schedules in our vintage ranch and I couldn't love it more. I'm lucky enough to make a living doing what I love for the people I love! I specialize in weddings (destination + local) and boudoir. I hope we have the chance to meet!

Ciara and Ethan’s wedding at The Venue CU in Champaign, Illinois, was the kind of day that reminded me why I love photographing weddings. This wasn’t just about two people committing to one another. It was about the coming together of two families, the joy they share, and the quiet, heartfelt moments that make a wedding truly unforgettable.
The day started in the bridal suite with Ciara getting ready, surrounded by her mom, bridesmaids, and her siblings. Ethan and his guys took it easy in the grooms suite, watching Family Guy and preparing for the day ahead. One of my favorite moments? The mother-son first look. It gave new life to a tradition I rarely tear up over – or see happen! The love and pride radiating from them made the room feel electric, especially with Ethan’s brothers watching by her side. Ciara also had a beautiful first look with both her dad and stepdad, full of those genuine smiles and a few happy tears.
Their ceremony was intimate, romantic, and deeply spiritual. With a pastor officiating and their families praying over them, every vow and glance felt intentional. And yes, you’ll see that he gifted her another rock the morning of, a sweet nod to the one he gave her when they first started dating, just like penguins do 🥹.
We did as many portraits inside as possible to escape the heat, though a few outdoor shots gave us those beautifully lit portraits we all know and love. The Venue CU is perfect for that kind of flexibility… it’s versatile enough to handle changing conditions, whether inside or outside, and provides so many opportunities for creative lighting and angles. Some of the day’s highlights included the bridal party sunglasses trend (always a crowd-pleaser), candid moments with family, and those fleeting, quiet instants that make wedding photography so special.
The reception was full of laughter, heartfelt toasts, and lots of dancing. With sage green and dusty blue accents, the space felt romantic, intimate, and timeless. Ciara and Ethan’s love for each other, their family, and their faith was palpable in every single frame. From their first look to the last dance, their wedding day was a perfect mix of joy, love, and laughter… one that I’ll remember for years to come.
If you’re planning a Venue CU wedding in Champaign, IL, or looking for a Champaign wedding photographer who loves capturing genuine family moments alongside beautiful, artsy shots, Ciara and Ethan’s wedding is exactly the kind of inspiration to guide your day.
Ciara, Ethan, I hope you had a blast on your honeymoon, and thank you for trusting me to capture these moments for you!
