I'm a coffee loving, travel-obsessed, thirty-something based out of Central Illinois. My best friend and I raise two kiddos on chaotic schedules in our vintage ranch and I couldn't love it more. I'm lucky enough to make a living doing what I love for the people I love! I specialize in weddings (destination + local) and boudoir. I hope we have the chance to meet!
Playful pups and beautiful light for Brienne and Tyler’s engagement session.
This week we have Brianne and Tyler on the blog! These two flew in from their current home in Colorado to visit family in Cissna Park. So, we got to squeeze in their engagement session while they were here.
I asked Brianne where she wanted to do engagement photos, and she decided on this location at Olivet Nazarene University campus. This building is absolutely stunning! Plus, it is right across the street from a church, which just happens to be the same church that Megan and Cole (remember them?) got married. I’ve gotten to shoot at this building a few times and it’s the perfect backdrop for portraits!
We started out their engagement session with their pups and took quite a few with them. Then their parents came to watch the dogs for them. I always love it when couples include their dogs, but I always recommend bringing along a babysitter! That way we can get all the cute family photos and then move on to the sweet couples photos.
For their second outfit, Brianne had on the cutest little dress! I absolutely loved it and it contrasted with Tyler’s black shirt very nicely, which is always good for the way I edit photos! As the evening went on we even got the most gorgeous light from golden hour peeping through.
Their parents then met back up with us with the dogs so we could get a few more portraits. As we were talking, her dad had mentioned that my mom had actually worked for him at his practice as a dental hygienist! It was just such a cool small world moment!
