Winter Wedding in the Country – Buckley, Illinois
I may be a bit of a grinch when it comes cold weather, but not when it comes to a well executed Christmastime winter wedding. That’s just what we had Saturday for Laura + Drake’s celebrations! I knew leading up to this day that everything was going to be absolutely stunning considering that I haven’t met a Kaeb sister that lacks style. seriously. I was probably most excited for the green velvet bridesmaids dresses Laura told me about during their engagement session. Pair that with their super modern “shouse” that made for excellent (read, “warm”) photo opportunities, killer florals done by the amazing Sheila of Sheila’s Sunny Bloomers, model status bridal party members, and Christmas trees everywhere, my job was easy! I think my favorite moment had to be Laura + Drake entering their reception on a dirt bike! This winter wedding set the bar high – like, REALLY high, and I can’t wait to show you these photos (and post them foreevverrrr on Insta!
THE PROPOSAL
“Drake told me that we were going to fix a light on the top of his shed outside. As soon as we got to the top of the shed on his lift, he asked me to turn around. When I turned around I saw that he had carved the words Marry Me into the field with a mini excavator. Then he got down on one knee and said “Will you marry me”. I was so shocked, I was honestly speechless! Also, I don’t wear rings ever, so He didn’t know my ring size! One day when I was in his shop with him while he was working, we were joking around, and he was putting the end of a wrench on my finger. He took the wrench that fit my finger to the rings store so that they would know what size it is! I couldn’t believe that he did this!” – Laura
