I'm a coffee loving, travel-obsessed, twenty-something based out of Central Illinois. I'm lucky enough to make a living doing what I love - photographing people! I specialize in weddings (destination + local), senior portraits, + boudoir.
Wow.
That’s really the only word I have to describe Chelsey and Ian’s Jamaican wedding ceremony. When Chelsey first brought the idea of their destination wedding up to me, I was all in. Who wouldn’t be?! Twenty-eight of the couples’ closest friends and family members traveled to Sandals Royal Caribbean in Montego Bay, Jamaica last January purely to help celebrate Chelsey and Ian. The entire week we spent there was splendid, but their wedding day was the icing on the cake. From the first moment, we knew the couple just wanted to have fun. They opted for a more laid back celebration, with a sweet ceremony hidden in the trees on the back side of the island overlooking the ocean, a short break for some photos, and finished up the formals cutting a cake and dancing together for the first time as husband and wife. They opted for the barefoot look, which fit in perfectly with the sound of the ocean waves and the smell of the salty air. As they were announced husband and wife, handheld cannons filled with shades of blue confetti burst into the air (with the help of guests) and I have to say, those photos are some of my favorites. So colorful and fun! After a quick boat ride to the main island and a walk back to the rooms (stopping for photos when I just couldn’t resist) it was time for a wardrobe change. We all hopped on a bus and rode over to jump on a Freestyle Private Charter Boat and sail out for a few hours! In attempt to not overwhelm with photos, I’ll be splitting up this blog post into a second part, so keep on the lookout for that!
I can’t say enough good things about Chelsey and Ian. Not only for allowing Brandon and I the opportunity to come along with them on their journey, but to everyone involved for making us feel like lifelong friends. Everyone, including the staff (shout out to Warren!) of the Sandals Royal Caribbean, were all so inviting and friendly and we really enjoyed our time in Jamaica! Now, be on the lookout for Chelsey + Ian Married Part Two, as I covered their reception back home here in the United States, but for now, what I know you’ve all been waiting for, the PHOTOS!
