I'm a coffee loving, travel-obsessed, thirty-something based out of Central Illinois. My best friend and I raise two kiddos on chaotic schedules in our vintage ranch and I couldn't love it more. I'm lucky enough to make a living doing what I love for the people I love! I specialize in weddings (destination + local) and boudoir. I hope we have the chance to meet!
I’m so excited to share Katelyn and Eli’s engagement session on the blog today! We met at their family’s property for this session, and it was an absolutely perfect evening. Some of my very favorite engagement sessions happen on my couples’ family properties. Just like Evie and Joshua’s engagement session last fall! So I never hesitate when couples ask to use their family property as a location for photos.
Their dog joined us for the first part of this engagement session and he was young and crazy. It was so much fun to photograph them as a little family. They lost this pup recently and I’m so happy they got to capture him in these photos. We never know what the future holds and these photo are so much more special to have now than they even were back when we met for this session. I never hesitate to welcome your fur babies in for this exact reason.
But on a happier note, this session really was so much fun. We got to explore their family’s property and found a little bridge that was perfect for a few fun photos. Then we headed to their family friend’s property to see Eli’s family’s old Farmall tractor. Adding this piece of family history to their engagement session made it so unique!
While we were at their friend’s property, Katelyn and Eli changed into a new outfit. Then we check out his BEAUTIFUL gardens. There were some patches of wildflowers that were so so pretty and I was able to shoot at some angles that made it look a little less like a garden and more like an open field.
This pretty spring engagement session turned out so well and I loved exploring their family property with them! Katelyn and Eli got married on New Year’s Eve in Bloomington and it was such a beautiful day. I can’t wait to share that day here on the blog soon, so make sure to subscribe to get notified!
