I'm a coffee loving, travel-obsessed, twenty-something based out of Central Illinois. I'm lucky enough to make a living doing what I love - photographing people! I specialize in weddings (destination + local), senior portraits, + boudoir.
Friday weddings are becoming ever more popular thanks to a national pandemic forcing lots of date changes anymore. For Erika + Tyler, their date change ultimately led them to me!
I met with Erika weeks before their big day to go over everything, and she was excited for their simple, rustic, fall wedding at the Hubbard Trail Country Club following their church ceremony. The morning of, the excitement was still in the air as everyone hustled around getting hair and makeup ready. Erika was dressed and it was off to the church to see her soon-to-be hubby for a first look! The proud tears on Tyler’s dad’s face had my heart melting as she walked down the aisle. The ceremony was sweet, and I especially loved the tree planting ceremony they did in place of the traditional unity candle!
Once time for the reception, we headed over to do most of the bridal party photos there and of course, that golden hour provided such amazing light for some shots of just Erika and Tyler – husband and wife!
“I knew Tyler was going to propose soon because he kept hinting at it but I had no idea when, where, or how it was going to happen! We went to dinner at La Pot in Danville on Dec 21, 2019 and enjoyed a few too many margaritas with his parents for heading home. I had just officially moved in with him that afternoon. We got home and he says “I can’t wait any longer, I can’t keep looking at it.” I, of course, had no idea what he was talking about so I was very confused when he walked over the the Christmas tree and picking something off the top of the tree (the ring). He then got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Of course I said yes!!! The first thing I said when he put the ring on my finger was “oh my God, it’s so heavy!” haha He then told me that the ring had been nestled on the top branch of the tree for four days and I somehow never saw it! He thought for sure I would see it because the top of the tree is eye level with me and I walked by the tree multiple times every day!” – Erika
Thank you both for allowing me to hang out with you on your biggest day as husband and wife so far! It was a blast and I hope you’re enjoying married life!
