I'm a coffee loving, travel-obsessed, twenty-something based out of Central Illinois. I'm lucky enough to make a living doing what I love - photographing people! I specialize in weddings (destination + local), senior portraits, + boudoir.
Today’s #weddingwednesday is a throwback to last year’s wedding with Kara Evans in Springfield, IL at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum! This day was magnificent in so many ways. I loved starting the details in the presidential suite of the President Abraham Lincoln Hotel in downtown Springfield. Marissa’s dress was simple and classic and I loved those dress shots.
After spending some time with Michael as he got ready, we were then ready to head to Lincoln Park where the ceremony was being held. The pond was perfect for bridal shots and I especially loved the photos on the bridge that made their deep red and navy colors pop. The ceremony was quaint and simple and oh so lovely. For round two of bridal party and bridal portraits we headed straight into the heart of downtown Springfield as night set in, and I adore the street light glow to their photos.
Marissa + Michael earn points for the most unique wedding venue, well, maybe EVER for me. Who knew you could clear out the main room of the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum to host your reception?! I mean, WOW. It created the best backdrop to their theme and when things settled down the displays were open for guests (and me!) to walk through which was so cool!
Kara (who you may remember from this wedding I also second shot for her) makes the wedding day so much fun and she’s incredibly sweet to work with! I was able to grab a few shots of her in action – doing what she does best! This day was incredible, and I have been so excited to share the photos of my view from their day with you all! Enjoy!
