I'm a coffee loving, travel-obsessed, twenty-something based out of Central Illinois. I'm lucky enough to make a living doing what I love - photographing people! I specialize in weddings (destination + local), senior portraits, + boudoir.
Saturday’s wedding was one for the books for many reasons, but what sticks out to me is that this was a rare time in which I was able to capture the weddings for not one, not two, but three weddings in the same family! So, here’s how it all began: I second shot with the amaaaazing Holly Birch for the oldest Coobs’ wedding over FOUR years ago. I then photographed Abby’s wedding two years ago – now here we are, capturing the last Coobs child to get married, Kat! To the Coobs family, thank you so much for trusting me, I feel so blessed and honored that I got to be a part of each of your wedding days!
Kat + Jake’s day was perfect, the Illinois weather cooperated enough to keep thunderstorms and showers away! The timeless look of the wedding party was so refreshing and sleek. Kat’s dress was simple yet so sophisticated. She even had a belt change after the ceremony to get ready for the parttttay! Jake was so dapper as well. His look was very timeless and traditional, and on top of that, the contrast between the groomsmen and bridesmaids was on point!
My fav part of the whole day was being able to head over the Memorial Stadium and use the columns as our backdrop – a first for me. A few weeks prior to the wedding we were able to scope out the best location for the light and I am sure glad we did, because it paid off – IN THE BEST WAY!! The lighting was everything and the tall columns paired nicely against the wedding attire. Again I say….TIMELESS!
After bridals at Memorial Stadium, it was party time but first we had to sneak away for 10 minutes to get more bridals at The Champaign Country Club and OMG, did Jake put on a show to get the in the right position for some of these…LOL! We were all laughing so hard we were in tears trying to get him situated – but heyyy, we did it and ! Once dinner and the epic toasts were done, the real party started with the band Hey Jimmy. The dance floor was so crowded the whole time it made it difficult to get in the middle for pictures but they were amazing!!!
I cannot thank Kat and Jake enough for trusting me on their most perfect day. Enjoy the sunshine you two!!
