I'm a coffee loving, travel-obsessed, twenty-something based out of Central Illinois. I'm lucky enough to make a living doing what I love - photographing people! I specialize in weddings (destination + local), senior portraits, + boudoir.
This past June, Brandon and I were to celebrate out 5th wedding anniversary. We have this little tradition where one of us plans and surprises the other with weekend anniversary plans every other year, with the exception of every 5 years, which we had agreed would be a bigger trip we’d plan together. Well, here we were, post recent trips to Florida, Jamaica, and Vegas, still coming up on year 5. We feel unbelievably blessed for the travel opportunities we’ve been given, and our families were trying to plan one big vacation together. The only time our calendars meshed together (hello, wedding season) was in the one weekend I black out every year due to our anniversary weekend, so that was that! We would be spending our 5th anniversary in Branson, Missouri, with both Brandon’s family and mine, and we were so excited about it! We figured we’d traveled enough just the two of us in the last year to make up for not going off for our anniversary just the two of us, plus, Bexley would have the ultimate vacation spending that much time with not one but two sets of grandparents! Can we say spoiled much?
Anyways, it was a blast! Brandon’s family has spent many vacations in Branson, I had been once before (and blogged about it here), but my family had never been, so it was cool to show them to our favorite spots, including Silver Dollar City. As most vacations go, I like to really enjoy them with my full attention, so that leaves big camera photos to a minimum, but I do try and take a few, so this post is a mix of iPhone and camera photos of our adventures!
We absolutely loved Silver Dollar City the first time around, so of course we had to come back!
This time around, we got to take a tour of the Marvel Cave, which was a strenuous hike but soooo worth it!
Bexley’s first year riding rides, and she still wasn’t the biggest fan!
The older crew always have a blast in the Fireman’s Play Place!
My favorite part of the whole place, the glass blowing demonstrations! I could sit and watch it all day long.
The next day, we got to go see a Branson show, SIX – an a cappella group of brothers. Some of us even got upgraded to front row seats for the show!!
Fun at the arcade, and once again, Bexley was spoiled with not one but TWO extra large stuffed animals to take home.
If you haven’t had the chance to ride a coaster like the Branson Coaster, you should! So fun, and even Bex loved it!
Thanks to vacationing with grandparents, we were able to celebrate our anniversary with a night out and an amazing dinner!
Last but not least, look at this throwback from our first visit to Silver Dollar City versus this past visit! My has she grown!!!
