JJ + Michael got married on one of the hottest days in June, but even the heat couldn’t keep them from staying on schedule! JJ started her day with her girls at the Leading Edge, and was ahead of schedule by the time I arrived. We were able to get details at the salon and quickly moved to the ceremony location: The Church of Christ in Paxton. This church is a really special ceremony space for me, because that is where my husband and I were married. Each time I get to photograph a wedding there, I look forward to seeing how the bride made the space her own. JJ did an amazing job of decorating, and made it easy to capture her dress, details, and getting ready moments beautifully.

JJ + Michael’s ceremony was simple, but perfect. We took family photos inside the church to stay in the AC, and were able to go off-location to photograph the bridal party. I think the whole party was excited to take pictures in an area with shade, and we got a lot of fun photos. I snapped some amazing bridals with JJ + Michael (isn’t JJ’s dress beautiful?) and we headed to the Gibson City Kruse Center for their reception. We arrived at the reception space and captured the beautiful decorations, speeches, dances and a really fun “snowball” dance by the guests that filled the dance floor quickly!

It was so wonderful working with JJ + Michael. JJ’s mom, Kim, (who I had met at their engagement session) as well as Michael’s mom, Michelle, made me feel so welcome. They are both two of the sweetest people I’ve met!  Thank you JJ + Michael for letting me capture your big day! I can’t wait to show you the rest!

I love how the salon tied perfectly into their wedding colors with it’s purple walls!  I loved the look that JJ’s mom had watching her baby girl get dressed for the beginning of the biggest day of her life! And JJ’s ring that has Michael’s name on it was to die for!
This little girl had major modeling skills!  THEY’RE MARRIED!!!  I loved that JJ wanted a photo of her laying on her train! One of my favorites! To say I was obsessed with how JJ’s train laid on the ground is an understatement.
This was my third time working with this DJ, and he’s always so fun and plays a really fun games!  It isn’t very often that I see another #mibride at a wedding, let alone have FOUR under the same roof! So of course it called for a photo! Brittany and Meghan’s (left) weddings are in just a couple short months, and you may recognize Ashley from her wedding in 2014!  I got to try some new techniques with the dance photos and I’m pretty excited about them!
