Alexis has been a Mager Image girlie for a long time, so when she messaged me that she got engaged, I knew exactly what was coming and I was so ready for it!

Their day in June was not a perfect-weather day. It rained, but it held off to a sprinkle every time we needed to be outside, and we truly made the most of it. Tori, our videographer, had her drone up getting shots of the church and yelled over to me from across the lawn, “it’s about to rain, I can see it coming.” She had a bird’s eye view of a rain cloud rolling in from miles away before any of us on the ground had a clue! We got everyone inside just in time and STILL got some epic footage before the rain came in. That’s Illinois weather for ya!

Alexis got ready at an Airbnb in Paxton while Blair got ready over in Buckley, and they did a first look before the ceremony at St. John’s Lutheran Church, their hometown church. They hold a lot of love in their hearts for Buckley, if you didn’t know that from their engagement photos! Fun fact, Alexis’ parents were married at that exact church too! I love a family affair!

We snuck in a quick stop after the ceremony for a few photos with Kane, their pup, because no wedding day is complete without the dog making an appearance. Then they hopped into the sickest car, a total showstopper, an old Packard driven by a chauffeur who took them from Buckley to Paxton for the reception.

The reception was at The Cadillac in Paxton, and this one was a first for me. I’d shot a styled shoot there before, but this was my first time behind the camera for a real live wedding in that space, and I am so here for more weddings landing so close to home!

Alexis and Blair kept the whole day short and sweet, no receiving line, no big formal sendoff, just a couple who knew what mattered to them, each other.
