Bright colors, bold choices, and a laid-back couple who made their wedding day exactly what they wanted, from garden vows to glow sticks.

Sierra and Dustin didn’t just throw a wedding… they threw a straight-up neon bash in Champaign, and I was there for every second of it. From the moment I saw Sierra’s flame-dipped sneakers and bouquet bursting with hot pinks, oranges, and yellows, I knew this day was gonna slap. (Fun fact: these two were married the same weekend as Brandon and I’s anniversary, and the minute I saw the pinks and oranges everywhere I was taken right back to our wedding day!)

The ceremony took place at the Japanese Arboretum, surrounded by lush greens that somehow made their electric color palette pop even more. And yes, there was a plant watering unity ceremony, because Sierra is a badass horticulturist and basically Mother Nature’s MVP, so a natural fit.

The reception at iHotel in Champaign kept the party going with bright lighting, a bold multi colored coordinating cake, and a packed dance floor. Their squad? All-in on the vibe. You could feel how much everyone just genuinely loved the hell outta them. Think neon sneakers, vibrant hair, and good energy for days. These two don’t take life too seriously and their day reflected that. It was fun, relaxed, and honestly one of the most visually loud weddings I’ve ever photographed. And that’s a compliment coming from this non-traditionalist. You do you boo. I love it.

From writing music to planting trees, Sierra and Dustin are the kind of couple that genuinely enjoy the weird, quiet, and nerdy parts of life together. Their wedding was a celebration of exactly who they are; bright, bold, and a little wild (in the best way).
