I'm a coffee loving, travel-obsessed, twenty-something based out of Central Illinois. I'm lucky enough to make a living doing what I love - photographing people! I specialize in weddings (destination + local), senior portraits, + boudoir.
Once again coming to your inbox with a favorite wedding – only this one’s fresh!
A couple weeks ago I traveled down to Tampa, Florida in preparation for Kinze + Devin’s big day. I flew in Wednesday in time for a quick beachside rehearsal walkthrough before Thursday’s main event: the wedding!
Kinze, Devin, and their closest friends rented this immaculate AirBNB to stay and get ready in. Not only was it perfectly divided to separate the boys side and the girls side, but it made for a cool spot for photos – despite the morning’s rain! Kinze was STUNNING (as always really) and Jasmine had SLAYED her makeup so it was time for a quick change into The Dress and out to meet up with Devin! He had chilled with the other guys most of the morning (as most men usually have the luxury of doing the morning of) and once dressed was ready to head to the dock to see his bride!
Their first look and portraits took place right outside the rental on the docks and despite a light sprinkle, it looked like we were set for only clouds the rest of the day, which turned out to be wonderful. The ceremony was short and sweet – I loved that they brought dirt from their homes and added sand from that beach to combine as their unity ceremony! They also made a BRILLIANT move and upon inviting everyone to Florida, suggested that everyone be in some shade of blue – and it made everything so cohesive! I loved it!
The reception was SO much fun, from a chill outdoor cocktail hour, a beautiful setup of The West Events inside, smoke AND sparks during their first dance, and ending the night with sparklers! Jaimi and Rachael were our planners for the day, and they were amazing to work with. They kept everyone (including their vendors) in mind when making any decision and transformed The West Events into Devin and Kinze’s dream wedding. It couldn’t have been easy, but they sure made it look like it! The day in it’s entirety was FULL of amazing photo opportunities, I could have shot bridals all. day. long. but I think Devin would’ve had something to say about that… 😉
The whole trip was incredible, and their families were SO sweet and inclusive of me – shout out to Laura, Kinze’s mom, for acting as my personal chauffeur for the day. You made my life so much easier so thank you! Kinze + Devin, I cannot thank you enough for bringing me along on this ride. This will officially be your LAST sneak tease – next step – FULL GALLERY. 😍
