I. Love. Amazon.

It’s a problem. But a handy one at that, so I’ll survive. Owning a business from home means that Amazon delivers almost everything I need right to my home, since I don’t have the usual “commute into town” to just stop and pick things up on the way home. In doing so, I’ve found a few things off Amazon I love and use all the time and today I want to share some with you in honor of #fridayfives!

1. Ring Boxes

These are A MUST!! These are perfect to have around the house to drop your rings in for when you are doing the dirty work and don’t want to damage/ruin your rings. Here are the ones I use. These are also SO handy for weddings. As a photographer, buying a very subtle, generic color and adding it to your bag can help get the perfect shot if the bride + groom forgot theirs. Or if you are a bride or groom and are wanting to add a pop of color to the infamous ring shot, buy one of these to match your wedding! 2. Macro filters

Top secret……I don’t own a macro lens – I know your jaw just dropped. Yet I can get ring shots like this one:

 

What’s my secret you ask? Macro filters! I couldn’t justify spending $900+ on a lens I’m really only buying to take out once in an entire day, so for $20 I found filters that fit my lens and with LOTS of practice have been able to get ring shots that I LOVE, at a fraction of the price. 😉 If you’re looking for more insight, check out my past blog post about them!

3. AA battery Charger and Batteries

If you’re using off camera flashes, you’re most likely using AA batteries. You need to invest in GOOD AA batteries and a good charger

I prefer powerex batteries over eneloop and i love this charger because i can see where they’re charged and i can drain the batteries to restart (which is good to do with anything rechargeable!)

4. Chiffon Ribbons

I love really any style, but I personally bought colors to coordinate with weddings and brand colors – I love the look of chiffon ribbon over silk ribbons but honestly you cannot go wrong!

5. Hard Memory Card Case

Seems like common sense right? But honestly there is more than 1 reason to get a hard memory card case! The plastic side case protects it from water, drops, things dropped on it, sand, sun, etc. I used to use a soft sided velcro case and HATED that the velcro was SO LOUD to open on wedding days, so this one clips! Total life saver for then you’re in a quiet church in the middle of a wedding! I bought this one specifically because it will hold SD and CF memory cards at the same time. My camera uses both, so it is SUPER handy!
