I'm a coffee loving, travel-obsessed, twenty-something based out of Central Illinois. I'm lucky enough to make a living doing what I love - photographing people! I specialize in weddings (destination + local), senior portraits, + boudoir.
Oh this day. Hannah + Tyler’s wedding day was full of tears and laughter and everything in between. The morning with the girls was filled with excitement as they all got ready for the day. I loved seeing Hannah’s dress for the first time. The lace sleeves and silk skirt were a perfect pair together and I imagined how beautiful Hannah would look in it. After photographing most of the details, it was time for Hannah to slip into the dress. Tears of happiness were shed as mom and bridesmaids helped her button up the back and put the final touches on, which included one of the most gorgeous cathedral length veils I’ve ever seen.
We then headed to Herscher for the first look at the church, followed by the touching moment when Hannah’s father saw her as a bride for the first time. Doing a first look for Hannah + Tyler’s big day was crucial since winter light disappears early in the day. We finished up family formals in the church and prepared for the ceremony. It was beautiful and filled with many tears and laughter. I loved the black and white ribbon wands as Hannah + Tyler exited the church! If you look really closely, you’ll notice that each wand had a cow bell attached to the top so that when their guests waved them around they made noise which was really cool! We then hopped onto the party bus and proceeded to take photos at a local farm. These photos are some of my favorite photos from this winter season! We were blessed with wonderful winter light and a gorgeous sunset to wrap things up before heading to Hannah + Tyler’s favorite watering hole, The Crazy Beaver.
The reception was gorgeous as they decorated with Christmas season evergreens, vintage boxes, antique doors, lanterns, and they even brought in their tractors! The Kankakee Exposition Center is located on the Kankakee County Fairgrounds and is huge, which was good since Hannah + Tyler had to accommodate for over 400 guests! The dance floor was never empty and I was reluctant to leave because I was having a blast! I have a feeling we will be seeing Hannah + Tyler in the future, not only because I’ll be photographing Tyler’s sister’s wedding, but because I consider them good friends now!
