I'm a coffee loving, travel-obsessed, twenty-something based out of Central Illinois. I'm lucky enough to make a living doing what I love - photographing people! I specialize in weddings (destination + local), senior portraits, + boudoir.
There was an 80% chance of severe thunderstorms for almost the entire day that Brittany + Trey planned to be married on. I left my house that morning thinking “Plan B” style, packed all of my rain gear, and even made a trip to buy umbrellas for the bridal party, just in case. I arrived at the American Lutheran Church in Rantoul, IL that morning photographing the outside in the rain, and kept a steady eye out the window of what was to come. The girls got ready and it seemed they had no care in the world. They were all so relaxed, happy, and excited for the day ahead, no matter what the weather! Once Brittany was done with hair and makeup, it was time for the dress. I have to admit that even I got all emotional as the final touches were made; Brittany was absolutely stunning!
Brittany + Trey had a lovely ceremony, and since Trey is on his local fire department, it was only fitting that they ride off in a firetruck. Guess what? The rain was GONE! Like, not anywhere to be found, and the forecast changed for sun! We followed up with photos at the fire house on our way to Urbana, and I have to admit some of these are my favorite from the entire day. Once we arrived at the Laborer’s Hall in Urbana (and once Trey was able to get into his truck after losing the keys) we found a few places to take some more photos before heading in to the reception. Brittany and Trey had decorated the hall with 1920’s memorabilia, and even had a few hints of Brittany’s love for Harry Potter throughout the place which I LOVED. It was a night full of laughter and tears from everyone in the room from toasting the bride and groom to paying tribute to Brittany’s late father to dancing the night away.
These two hold a special place in my heart and I wish them all the best in their future endeavors!
