Stephany and Lorenzo’s Beautiful Summer Wedding Day

Throwing it back a bit for today’s blog. Stephany and Lorenzo said “I do” on their beautiful and warm summer wedding day at the Kankakee County Fairgrounds!

These two met when Stephany was in California to visit family and they hit if off right away! They started talking more and more when Stephany returned home, and they had a few flights back and forth to see each other. Soon, Lorenzo left for a 6 month deployment to Japan. When he finally returned home, Stephany made the move to California. And the rest is history!

When their summer wedding day finally came, they got glammed up and ready to go at the Hilton in Kankakee, IL. Then they shared the most beautiful first look. With Lorenzo in his dress blues and Stephany in the most GORGEOUS gown, it was picture perfect!

Then it was time to head to the venue to meet up with their friends for bridal party photos. Lorenzo, being a marine, was sometimes hard to get smiles out of. But it was a fun challenge for me to break out all the jokes. And it worked! We got some smiles out of him and had a blast doing it.

After the ceremony, we all headed into the main building for the reception. The fairgrounds are the perfect reception venue, especially for larger summer weddings. The building offers the perfect amount of space for a crowd and the most beautiful lighting setup! A few of my absolute favorite weddings have happened in this space with amazing couples like Casey + Adam and  Cheyenne + Logan! If you’re getting married in central Illinois, I definitely recommend checking it out!

We ended the night with the most beautiful sunset for photos. And of course I couldn’t go home without capturing the iconic Mager Image silhouette shot!
