I'm a coffee loving, travel-obsessed, twenty-something based out of Central Illinois. I'm lucky enough to make a living doing what I love - photographing people! I specialize in weddings (destination + local), senior portraits, + boudoir.
Ladies (and gents), prepare to be wowed! If you’re on the hunt for some swoon-worthy wedding inspo, you’ve landed in the right place. I recently had the privilege of capturing a wedding extravaganza at the picturesque Miller Farm Barns in Gifford, and trust me when I say it was nothing short of magical.
Now, let’s talk colors. Neutral palettes are all the rage these days, but this couple took it up a notch by adding shades of rust and terracotta into their big day. From the stunning floral arrangements to the chic bridesmaids’ dresses, every element came together to create a cohesive and utterly swoon-worthy look. The result? Perfection. And Miller Farms with its weathered wooden beams and a gorgeous reception set up, it was fantastic for photos inside too!
Now, let’s talk about the life of the party. This couple and their crew knew how to have a good time! I love a wedding where the smiles are as endless as the laughter, and the bridal party is just as cool as the couple to hang out with for the day.
But, of course, at the heart of it all was the love story. This bride and groom shared a connection that was palpable. From the way they stole glances during the vows to the tearful embraces with their families, it was clear that love was the star of the show.
So, there you have it, folks—a wedding day that was equal parts rustic, elegant, and downright fun. If you’re planning your own big day or simply in need of some wedding inspo, consider the magic of terracotta and the rustic charm of Miller Farm Barns.
Here’s to love, laughter, and all the beautiful moments that make weddings truly unforgettable.
Hailey, Jacob; thank you.
“We knew early on that we wanted to get married and start our lives together quickly. So in 2021 when we started dating we had decided we wanted to be engaged in 2022. Well, the spring of 2022 Jacob came to me and said he wanted to wait another year. I was heartbroken, but we had just talked about a bunch of our financial plans, and he said he felt like he needed more money saved up, and he wanted to wait for life to slow down a bit (when does life ever slow down?). As sad as I was, I understood where he was coming from and agreed to wait. Fast forward to August 18th, 2022, Jacob comes home from work (this is a Thursday) and says he made dinner reservations for us at Brickstone in Kankakee for the following night. I didn’t think it was suspicious at all because he is a very spontaneous person, and we had just talked about how we hadn’t been out to eat in a while. So, later that night he wanted to help me pick out an outfit to wear to dinner. This also wasn’t out of the ordinary. I’ve always welcomed and appreciated his input on my outfits, and I like to know I’m wearing something he enjoys looking at me wearing lol. He also asked me to cut his hair that night, which I also didn’t think twice about because he needed it. As I’m retelling this, at this point I’m realizing that I’m clueless haha. So the following day, Friday Aug 19th, I got ready for dinner as I always would. He had told me before we left that we needed to stop at his grandpa’s house to drop off the hair clippers (his late grandma was a cosmetologist so his grandpa lets us borrow her “hair bag” whenever Jacob needs a hair cut). We got there and Jacob said, “I don’t think Papa is home, let’s go look at the beans”. His grandpa owns the field behind his house, and it’s very “Jacob” to want to go check the crops. Again, I didn’t think twice about this. Next thing I knew, we were walking along the bean field and I had my back to him. He grabbed my shoulders and turned me to I faced him. I only remember the first part of his little speech, “Hailey, you’re the love of my life…” the freak out ensues. He got on one knee and asked me to marry him! His grandpa was home the whole time, and was supposed to take pictures but he missed it. Bless his heart Haha.” – Hailey
