I'm a coffee loving, travel-obsessed, twenty-something based out of Central Illinois. I'm lucky enough to make a living doing what I love - photographing people! I specialize in weddings (destination + local), senior portraits, + boudoir.
Last Saturday’s wedding was a special one! Kaylee + John got married at Miller Farm Barn in Gifford, Illinois. Kaylee is a long time Mager Image gal! She was a senior spokesmodel, I did their engagement and maternity session – and now their wedding! Kaylee has also been a friend of Rachel, my sister, for a while so I’ve gotten to know her well! I have loved being involved in capturing all of life’s biggest moments for her!
Kyli + Arik, the owners of Miller Farm Barn are SO accommodating and great to work with. And actually before they had the venue – we knew them as friends! They have made the place so stunning!! Kaylee + John rented the wooden chairs and damn they were the perfect match for the barn and the vibe that they were wanting.
Kristine (Flowers by Kristine) did the flowers and as usual, her work WAS STUNNING!!!! Kaylee had these wooden fan type things that were in her bouquet that were so unique! I had never seen them before! Kaveri, Kaylee + John’s little girl is undeniably ADORABLE. My GAWWWD she was cute! She made me miss my babes but luckily, I got to snuggle that little miss thang!
It was a HOTTTTT one on Saturday!! We had a little rain but it didn’t ruin the day at all! If anything, Kaylee was an effing champ about it. I’m 100% positive that girl would have been out in a monsoon if it would have timed out right. It rained right in the middle – but at the right time. Right after bridal party pictures it started sprinkling. Kaylee was ALLL for pictures in the rain – she was not worried about the rain at all! So we snapped a few in the sprinkles and as soon as we walked into the barn, it started raining sideways!
The ceremony was on the patio right outside the barn and since it was so hot, some of the guests at the reception hung out on the patio to help cool off. They decided to keep it traditional and didn’t do first look. John teared up (rightfully so, because Kaylee was stunning) which was bridesmaids predictions. He is a great compliment to Kaylee. He’s a little quiet and reserved while she’s more outgoing and bubbly – they truly are the perfect pair!!
After a brief a pause to get the DJ’s assistant wheeled off in an ambulance we were able to get the party started for the night! They wanted to make everyone feel comfortable and welcome so John greeted a lot of the guests during the reception, which I thought was so sweet!
I will say, it was such a laid back, perfect day with such great vendors!
Kaylee + John, I feel so grateful for being able to capture another one of your most special moments! I hope you cherish these photos as much as I loved taking them and I can’t wait to capture your next journey! 🖤
