I'm a coffee loving, travel-obsessed, twenty-something based out of Central Illinois. I'm lucky enough to make a living doing what I love - photographing people! I specialize in weddings (destination + local), senior portraits, + boudoir.
Happy #weddingwednesday everyone! My 2019 started off with a big bang as we celebrated the marriage of Ellie + Austin. I’ll admit when they booked their wedding date for early January, we planned for cold weather knowing there was a good chance of snow or even ice. Little did we know that the first Saturday of the year would start off feeling more like fall! It was an absolutely gorgeous day with sunny skies and warm temperatures all day long. The Majestic Theatre in Kankakee is a unique downtown location with plenty of space for the girls to get ready on the second floor balcony while the guys were up on the third floor balcony for the morning. Having everything in once place really helped the day feel so relaxed and stress-free with plenty of time to get everything done. I started with the details which included Ellie’s stunning long-sleeved lace gown and her shoes full of bling!
You’ll recognize Ellie + Austin from the engagement session we did in Chicago last summer, which was so much fun. To say I’m completely obsessed with Ellie’s eyes is an understatement, with one being a warm brown and the other being a vibrant green! I made sure to get some shots showing them off for sure! Their ceremony was short and sweet, which allowed us to venture a little farther downtown right at sunset for portraits with the jaw-dropping golden hour light in the light breeze. It was the perfect set-up for portraits and I just know that TJ, their videographer with Firkins Films, got some amazing footage with her veil blowing in the wind. The reception was a blast and the dance floor was hardly empty ever!
