I'm a coffee loving, travel-obsessed, twenty-something based out of Central Illinois. I'm lucky enough to make a living doing what I love - photographing people! I specialize in weddings (destination + local), senior portraits, + boudoir.
I was booked even before the church. I shared that story with you when I revealed their engagement photos. The engagement photos (both part 1 and 2) were a blast, and these two are serious model material. I am always in photographer heaven around Maisie + Dylan! Though (as I explained) being held to such high praise makes my heart skip a beat for just a second, and I wanted everything to go just right for their big day. Turns out, it was one easy task with these two, and they planned such a beautiful, elegant, and fun wedding.
Brandon and I started out the day meeting with the girls, shooting a few details, and hanging in the hotel bar with the guys. When Maisie found her ceremony venue, The Wesley United Methodist Church, she raved about the atmosphere and the bridal suite and even sent photos (again, this girl knows how to treat a photographer right!) The place was stunning, and we knew we wanted to have Maisie get dressed for the day there. After throwing together a last minute bridesmaids reveal AND a daddy/daughter reveal (complete with tears), it was show time!
And you guys. I cried. I cried A LOT. I walked down the longest church aisle I’ve seen in a long time, and noticed something in the first pew. Once I walked closer I noticed a single flag draped over the seat. It held the place of Dylan’s late father. What a sweet way to remember him by. After the chapel filled with all of their friends and family, the music started, and their bridal party walked down. Everyone looked great in their navy tuxes and light blue dresses! The music got quiet, and the song changed. There was a brief pause, everyone rose to their feet, and all was quiet but the soft music filling the air. It was as if every person was holding their breath, awaiting the bride. Then she stepped into the aisle, the pews lined with cloud-like ivory fabric, and it was all eyes on Maisie. She was STUNNING. So stunning that I had tears running down my face, and the sweet expression on Dylan’s face was priceless. It all went so smoothly, and they exited as husband and wife.
Before heading to the iHotel we ventured to downtown Champaign for bridal party photos and a quick pit stop at a local bar, Barrelhouse 34. The reception was stunning as we walked into a room full of friends and family surrounded by elegant ivory, gold, and blush details on every table covered in light blue linens. We had a blast even past setting down the camera gear, and loved celebrating every moment with Maisie + Dylan.
Congratulations you two, I’m so so happy for you! I hope you are enjoying every second of your honeymoon in Riviera Maya, Mexico and soaking up the sun! Enjoy the photos, and if you do, be sure to leave a comment below for the chance to help the happy couple receive a complimentary print from yours truly!
