I'm a coffee loving, travel-obsessed, twenty-something based out of Central Illinois. I'm lucky enough to make a living doing what I love - photographing people! I specialize in weddings (destination + local), senior portraits, + boudoir.
It’s no secret I love second shooting. I’ve bored you over and over with the many reasons why I love it, so I won’t go there again. Last March, I had the opportunity to team up with Heather and her hubby of Heather Springer Photography – and we had a ball. The pair is actually from Kansas (Illinois originals), but traveled back home for Michael (Mick) + Emily’s west Chicago wedding!
I started my morning hanging out with the guys, who were relaxing and getting ready to traditional Irish music, which was the perfect start to their very Irish-proud wedding. Also, I should mention that Emily + Mick were tying the knot on none other than St. Patrick’s Day. How awesome?! Their wedding theme was centered all around the Irish heritage and the Flag of Ireland, using green and orange as their key color palette colors. The ceremony was held in a smaller room of Pheasant Run Resort, which looked rich with history and charm. The entire venue is a local escape, and they have an entire indoor Bourbon Street replica, which was right outside of the ballroom their reception was held in. I stayed around for the reception dances and fell in love with the effect the top spotlight had on the happy couple during their first dance. I loved traveling up north to help capture Emily + Mick’s big day!
I feel like dramatic lighting in the morning had set the mood for the rest of the day. You’ll see what I mean in a bit. What’s an Irish wedding without a little Jameson to start your day? Emily + Mick’s puppy is absolutely adorable! What’d I tell you about that dramatic lighting?! LOVE.
