Being the oldest child, I get constant reminders of how old I’m getting. One of those moments was when I took my sister’s senior photos this past weekend. She wanted spring photos, so when the trees at the Japan House on the University of Illinois’ campus (U of I Arboretum) finally went into bloom, we knew we had to go! We met before her session for makeup by the ever talented Sage Ihrke (Sage Ihrke Makeup Artistry) and she was set. Rachel was absolutely stunning with her smokey eye and deep berry lip color. We headed to Champaign right as golden hour approached and light was perfect. The cherry trees were stunning and so peaceful to walk through on a warm sunny day. We walked all around and had a blast together! I think my favorite parts were the many (MANY) comments from strangers complimenting her hair. She’s got the most curly hair of anyone I’ve ever known, and she rocks it!

Rachel and I don’t get to see each other as much as I would love to, so it was a blast just hanging out and shooting around. She has grown into a wonderful, fun, caring soul and I couldn’t be more proud to call her my sister. I can’t wait to go out and shoot again really soon!
