Mariah | Senior

Mariah emailed me months ago, hoping to schedule her senior session with me. She was way ahead of schedule, but for good reason. Although she’s originally from Watseka and her family lives there, she goes to school hours away in Aurora, IL at the Illinois Math and Science Academy. Holy smarts! Since she was hours away, we did all of our planning and scheduling via text and emails. Before she arrived on the day of her session to have her makeup done by the amazing Brittany K. I was excited, but didn’t know what to expect of Mariah. I was no smarty (hello – art major) in school, so I was admittedly a bit intimidated. Turns out, nothing to worry about, because Mariah is awesome! When she arrived we immediately started talking fashion while looking through her wardrobe pieces, and the talking never slowed down. We discovered that we are both huge Gilmore Girls fans, and cranked the tunes on our drive. I asked probably a million questions about her schooling and it was so interesting to hear about the Illinois Math and Science Academy. Mariah had noticed these teal benches in a previous session of mine, so we made sure to hit them up at the U of I Arboretum before heading to the tennis courts!
