I'm a coffee loving, travel-obsessed, twenty-something based out of Central Illinois. I'm lucky enough to make a living doing what I love - photographing people! I specialize in weddings (destination + local), senior portraits, + boudoir.
For those of you who follow me on Facebook, Instagram, or Snapchat, you already know that Bexley just turned one. I know, I’m still having a hard time facing it. Nonetheless, I had my first experience planning a first birthday party. Let me tell you, it’s tough. Not only are you facing the fact that your little 8lb baby is now a year older, but you’re trying to make everything perfect.
Well, with a lot of help from some very dear family and friends, I pulled it off. But if you’re a new mom and facing your very first birthday party, I have some advice, learned the hard way:
Now that I’ve spoken my peace, I want to thank each and every person who came to celebrate Bexley’s birthday with us. We’re truly blessed to have so many wonderful people in her life. We love you all!
We celebrated on her birthday at Pizza Palace in Gilman. She loved the pizza and breadsticks and playing mini putt putt afterwards in the back room! Thanks to Nana B for bringing cake!
A HUUUUUGGGEE thanks to Green Acres Sportsman’s club for allowing me to take over their club house. I enjoyed printing off my Instagram photos to display, and it was fun to read through the cards that everyone wrote their wishes for her on.
I can’t say enough good things about Stephanie Shively, but was really grateful that she made Bexley’s smash cake again for her party. She had also made the cake for Bexley’s first year photos, you may have seen on my Facebook! We made sure to share this cake though! 🙂 IGA did a wonderful job on the cupcakes, and I can’t thank Jayna and Sage enough for helping me make rice krispie treats for the first time ever.
My Aunt Becky did an amazing job on Bexley’s first year board. There’s no way I can erase it though, it’s too good!
Not the best family photo, but the best we got from the day!
Forget the games, the kids all enjoyed playing with PlayDoh outside!
