I'm a coffee loving, travel-obsessed, twenty-something based out of Central Illinois. I'm lucky enough to make a living doing what I love - photographing people! I specialize in weddings (destination + local), senior portraits, + boudoir.
You’ve met Savannah. She’s one of my incredible spokesmodels for the class of 2016! If you haven’t met Savannah, take a look at her junior mini session we did last spring! Today I’m going to show you photos from her full senior session we did last summer. It’s #throwbackthursday!
Anyways, Savannah is currently a senior at Iroquois West High School. She is so much fun to work with, and her senior session is one I’ll never forget! It was June, and we had been blessed with warm dry weather. On the day of her session, the sun was shinning bright, and it was going to be perfect! We met on the campus of the University of Illinois and started exploring new places! She had told me that she brought her prom dress along to grab a few photos in, so we both decided to save the best for last. About an hour into her session, the clouds began to roll in and boy did they look nasty. They were evil looking with a greenish-yellow hue to them, so we decided to hurry it along in the current outfit she was in, head back towards the car, and quickly change into her dress.
We didn’t make it. For those of you who follow me on Snapchat (@missmagers) saw the events unfold behind the scenes. We had tried to venture out for a few shots before the rain came in, with no luck. It began raining, and it was coming down HARD. We quickly ran for cover, and one would think that being on campus would give us plenty of options to hide from the rain, but ohhh noooo. It was the middle of summer break, everything was locked! Our only option was to huddle together under a door frame and hope the rain passed quickly! We spent the next 15 minutes laughing at our current situation, sending funny snapchats, and talking about random things while awkwardly standing in a cramped space. Then it was all over, and the sun came back out shinning bright! The humidity made Savannah’s hair curl up and it was so pretty with a natural wave. We then went back out to photograph Savannah in her prom dress, and called it a day!
