I'm a coffee loving, travel-obsessed, twenty-something based out of Central Illinois. I'm lucky enough to make a living doing what I love - photographing people! I specialize in weddings (destination + local), senior portraits, + boudoir.
Snowfall is a hard thing to catch for photographers. It’s unpredictable, meaning if we want to catch it falling, we have to be “on call” and keep our fingers crossed our clients are available. This year especially, I wasn’t honestly sure if we were going to see snow at all. It felt like fall pretty much up until the week or two before Christmas, seriously! I didn’t have to break out the winter coat until late! As much as I loved it, I had a handful of clients really wanting to catch some snow, and a group of girls who I knew would love a pop-up session in the snow. Luckily Christmas eve brought some gorgeous snow that covered the ground and stayed around for a while, so I was able to fit in more than one session in that window, and even put out a call to the senior models to see who was available to meet the last day I was open. Catie, Laura, and Jayden were open and willing to make the trip to visit me and hang out in the snow, and that morning fresh snow began to fall! It was a last minute decision to push the session to an earlier hour, which was good because while we were shooting around Paxton’s Ten Mile Grove, the snow started to come down pretty heavily! We weren’t out for more than 45 minutes, which was enough for us since it was very cold, but we got some great shots. I’m so proud of these girls for sticking it out with me and “thinking warm” with me. I love when things all fall into place, including the snow!
