I'm a coffee loving, travel-obsessed, twenty-something based out of Central Illinois. I'm lucky enough to make a living doing what I love - photographing people! I specialize in weddings (destination + local), senior portraits, + boudoir.
July 8, 2017
I first met Kelly + Kyle for a Starbucks date to talk wedding details. In the first few minutes of meeting them I could tell that they were both very loving individuals who love to have fun and joke around. Their engagement session was a testament to that, as we all couldn’t stop laughing, so I knew their wedding day would be nothing short of that. We had planned to meet Kelly and the girls that morning and hang out with them as they prepared for the day. She already had her hair and makeup done upon our arrival so we got busy doing the detail shots as they relaxed and then with the help of her mom, bridesmaids, and man of honor, transformed from a beautiful woman to a beautiful bride! Her dress was a gorgeous trumpet silhouette with lace covering every inch and a rhinestone belt to bring it all together, but my favorite detail were the rhinestone buttons down the back! AH! Her colorful blue shoes were the perfect compliment to the navy bridesmaids dresses and it was all coming together.
After a first look with dad and then Kyle, we proceeded with some bridal party photos at the Japanese Gardens before heading to downtown Urbana to Crane Alley, a local watering hole, to relax, hang out, have a few drinks, and cool off before the outdoor ceremony at Kyle’s family farm. We lucked out with beautiful weather, and clouds in the sky that I can only describe as the “Toy Story clouds” – perfection. The reception was held under a gorgeous big white tent also on the family farm, and everything looked beautiful from the gold bows tied on every chair to the blue and purple floral centerpieces. Being an outdoor wedding and reception meant we all got to watch the sun go down and when the light was just perfect, I was able to talk Kelly and Kyle back out for just five minutes more of camera time, and those are my favorite bridal photos of the entire day. You CANNOT go wrong with photos at sunset. Just wait, you’ll know what I mean! They then spent the rest of the night dancing, mingling, and having fun!
All in all, the day was filled with love, joy, and memories that will last a lifetime. These two head to GREECE this week, and I am so jealous happy for them! Celebrate your love and have a blast! Congrats!
