I'm a coffee loving, travel-obsessed, twenty-something based out of Central Illinois. I'm lucky enough to make a living doing what I love - photographing people! I specialize in weddings (destination + local), senior portraits, + boudoir.
In the wedding industry you have to roll with the punches and work with what you have and that is exactly what we did Saturday with the gloomy skies and rain.
We met the bride and her girls (and later, the guys) at the cutest, little, quaint church in Crescent City. The morning started out great getting detail shots (which might I add, the bride did her OWN bouquets) and hanging with the girls. The detail shots are some of my favorites! Megan’s dress was stunning – the sheer sharp cuts into the sides were so unique. Her bridesmaids were in pretty pale blue dresses that all had different lace tops (LOVED) with the groomsmen in a lush royal blue tux. I loved the color palette that they chose, it was perfect behind the lens!
I was obsessed with the Lutheran church in Crecent City! During the ceremony the rain started – luckily, Megan + Jacob allowed plenty of wiggle room in their timeline (future brides, this is important) for us to work with the rain in-between the ceremony and reception! The rain didn’t stop though, so we hopped on and off the bus to use the outbuildings and overhangs at the fairgrounds to get some bridal party pictures and I’m pretty proud with what we got.
Thank goodness for Megan + Jacob’s DJ, Ryan, and videographer, Nick, for being SO flexible with me! They were amazing to work with and we were able to adjust the schedule and pull them away after the first dance to get some more bridals in because the rain FINALLY stopped…..and man did that pay off! Who knew a few puddles and a very dreary day could turn into such gorgeous bridals?! I MEAN MY GAWWWDDD!
No joke, Megan + Jacob were such troopers and trusted me to do my job and I’m so excited to show them some of my favorites from their wedding day! I hope you enjoy these as much as I did capturing them.
